Tallow!  It's all the rage right now, but why?? What is tallow?

Tallow has actually been around for quite some time and has been used for centuries.  It's starting to come back into the spotlight due to its many benefits for people of all ages and for all skin types.  Not all tallow is the same though; it's important to source your tallow from high quality, grass-fed/finished beef, and this amazing company that we've found, Cowboy and Co., does just that from the pastures of Wyoming! 

Tallow is a nutrient-rich traditional skincare ingredient made from high-quality, sustainably sourced animal fat.  It's deeply moisturizing, gentle, and perfect at restoring your skins natural balance.  It's rich in vitamins A, D, E, & K, antioxidants, as well as essential fatty acids.  These nutrients closely mimic the composition of the oils naturally produced by our skin which is why tallow is so uniquely effective at nourishing, hydrating, protecting, repairing and restoring without any synthetic additives.  It's also gentle, won't clog pores, and is versatile enough for all skin types! A little goes a long way, so less is more when using tallow, adding more in small amounts as your skin needs!

• Shelf Life:  Your tallow will stay fresh for up to 12 months when stored in a cool dark place.
• Keep it dry:  Always use clean, dry hands to scoop the tallow when getting ready to apply.  Introducing moisture can affect its texture and longevity.
• A little goes a long way!  Warm a small amount between your fingers before applying.  I always go by the rule:  Less is more.  Start with less, working up to using more in small amounts until you find what works best for your skin.  If you feel super greasy/like it's not absorbing, you've likely used too much.  
• Versatile Use:  Perfect for the face, the body, and the hands as well as dry patches!
• This tallow is whipped. Whipped tallow is aerated to create a lighter, fluffier texture that makes it easy to scoop and apply.  **With that said, the airy texture makes it more susceptible to melting or separating in high heat, so make sure you store in a cool dark place**
• Vanilla scented.  Ideal for wanting a touch of luxury and aromatherapy in your skincare.  Only organic essential oils are used in this product which ensures that it is gentle, natural, and skin safe.
